Sanayi faaliyetlerinin coğrafi yoğunlaşmasının incelendiği çalışmada Gaziantep’te faaliyette bulunan
firmaların mekânsal dağılış kalıpları incelenerek Türkiye ve Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi içerisindeki yeri
ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Yoğunlaşmanın gösterilmesinde sıklıkla kullanılan yoğunlaşma katsayısı
(Location Quotient) yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesinde faaliyette bulunan firmaların tespit
edilmesinde kullanılan veriler 2020 yılında TOBB sanayi veritabanı’ndan alınarak haritalandırılmıştır.
Geleneksel yöntemler ile kantitatif yöntemlerin karşılaştırıldığı çalışmada Gaziantep’te bulunan firmaların
yoğunlaşma dereceleri ilçe ve sektör düzeyinde belirlenmiştir. Buna göre ilçe düzeyinde OSB’lerin bulunduğu
Şehitkâmil en yüksek yoğunlaşma derecesine sahipken Şahinbey ve Nizip imalat sanayinin yoğunlaştığı diğer
ilçeler olarak belirlenmiştir. Sektörel bazda incelendiğinde gıda ürünleri imalatı, tekstil ürünleri imalatı,
kimyasal ürünler imalatı, kâğıt ürünleri imalatı, plastik ve deri ürünleri imalatı sektörlerinde yoğunlaşma ve
uzmanlaşma düzeylerinin yüksek oluğu tespit edilmiştir.
Industry has been the main driving force of development in the 21st century. Industry also ensures
economic growth and sustainability as a basic element. This study examines the geographical concentration of
industrial activities in Gaziantep. The spatial distribution patterns of the companies operating in Gaziantep have
been examined and situation has been tried to be revealed according to Turkey and Southeastern Anatolia
Region. The Location Quotient, which is frequently used to show the industrial concentration levels, chosen for
determine sectoral concentration levels of the companies in Gaziantep. According to this, Şehitkamil where the
organized industrial zones are located, has the highest concentration levels; Şahinbey and Nizip are also
concentrated districts in manufacturing industry. It has been determined that the concentration and
specialization levels are high in the manufacture of food products, textiles, chemical products, paper products,
plastic products and leather products.
