A new norditerpenoid alkaloid, delbruninol (1), has been isolated from the aerial parts of Delphinium brunonianum Royle Its structure has been established on the basis of its spectroscopic data (IR, HRFABMS, H-1, C-13, H-1-H-1 and H-1-C-13 COSY, ROESY, TOCSY, HMQC-TOCSY and HMBC NMR spectra). The known alkaloids delcosine, browniine, blacknidine, delbrunine, 18-methoxygadesine and nudicaulamine were also isolated and identified. The roots of D. brunonianum Royle furnished the known alkaloids methyllycaconitine and lycoctonine.
