Özet

The etiology of temporomandibular disorders, known as a multifactorial disease, varies from person to person and with respect to the kind of the disorder. Occlusal discrepancies are accepted as one of the probable etiological factors of the temporomandibular disorders. Various dental procedures are carried out to evaluate the occlusal condition and to rehabilitate the occlusal disorders temporarily or permanently in order to manage the symptoms of temporomandibular disorders. Multidisciplinary approach may improve the effectiveness and the success of the treatment. In this presentation, basic occlusal disorders and the treatment principles are pointed out.
