Özet

Ferula pisidica Akalın & Miski is a novel endemic species discovered in the vicinity of the Karaman province of Türkiye. As a part of ongoing studies to discover anticancer natural products, we isolated nine sesquiterpene esters, ferutinin (1), jaeschkeanadiol benzoate (2), elaeochytrin A (3), epoxyjaeschkeanadiol benzoate (4), epoxyjaeschkeanadiol p-hydroxybenzoate (5), epoxyjaeschkeanadiol vanillate (6), lancerodiol p-hydroxybenzoate (7), lancerodiol vanillate (8), webiol angelate (9) from the dichloromethane extract of the roots of F. pisidica.  The structures of all isolated compounds were determined by spectroscopic methods including 1D and 2D NMR experiments, and HRMS. Extracts and isolated compounds were investigated in vitro for their cytotoxic activities against three human cancer cell lines (COLO 205, K-562, and MCF-7).
